Beyond Beyond is cross-disciplinary artist duo Giulia Astesani and Roshana Rubin-Mayhew. Their collaborative practice spans contemporary art, commissioned photography, lecturing and queer parties. Drawing their research from diverse sources including Queer and Feminist theories, Astronomy and Science Fiction, they create installations that form temporary portals to utopian spaces. These platforms explore ‘queering’ as a methodology to reinvent, revision and reimagine the current state of things, through engagement and dialogue, ingress and egress.

Giulia and Roshana met during their Master’s at University of the Arts, London and first began working together in 2014 as GJRL, an international four-strong art collective with Lalu Delbracio & Jessie McLaughlin.

Beyond Beyond teaches on the International BA Photography Course at Istituto Europeo di Design (IED), Milano Italy.
