Beyond Beyond is a cross-disciplinary creative studio set up by Giulia Astesani and Roshana Rubin-Mayhew. Their work spans contemporary art, commissioned photography and lecturing. Beyond Beyond’s multifaceted collaborative practice explores themes of interconnectivity, utopias, queerness and feminism. They believe the proliferation of ideas is a powerful tool for social change, sparked in the fluid platforms they create for engagement and dialogue, ingress and egress.
Giulia and Roshana first began working together in 2014 as GJRL, an international four-strong female art collective with Lalu Delbracio & Jessie McLaughlin. They have exhibited their work across Europe and both hold an MA in Photography from London College of Communication, University of the Arts London.
Beyond Beyond teaches on the International BA Photography Course at Istituto Europeo di Design (IED), Milano Italy.
